Parambikulam sanctuary is one of the kerala’s premier wildlife reserves of 285 km2 stretch forest. It is a thickly forest with bamboo, rosewood, teak & sandal woods. Parambikulam is the remains of original teak forest, it very famous the Asia largest for kannamari teak tree.
And Parambikulam is well known for India’s most prominent mammals and animals like Tiger,Wild dogs, Leopards, Elephants, Spotted deer, Sloth bear, Wild boar, Barking deer, Langurs, Macaques, ect., It is also famous for birds migration like civet, chevrotain, pangolin, crocodile, jungle cat, porcupine and 140 different kind birds are found in the sanctuary
Parambikulam is famous for south India's finest stands of teak. The famous Kannimari teak tree, the largest in Asia as most of these have now been replaced by teak plantations.
Parambilkulam is a very good place for elephants, sloth bears, wild boars, chital tigers, panthers, crocodiles and Indian bison(Gaur). Indian bison is the highly populated in parambikulam wild life forest.
Tree-House in the reserved forest area at thoonakkadavu stay will be very nice and it should be booked in advance for stay.
